Anyway to maybe repair the files I got and update that HD driver? Or is that the main issue now? Is that making it so I cant install any other version of the HD one? All I did was update what the alienware updated wanted cause it annoyed me to do so. The one thing that bothers me about this, is I don't remember exactly what caused this. Well, it fails, has an error that things werent installed correctly and then closes. Ok, so then I wonder if I could launch the setup.exe in the realtek hd audio driver that I used to use. So I got to thinking, maybe I should try seeing what would pop up with the "show compatible drivers" box unticked. Thing is, if I go to device manager, sound device, reltek audio, update, and manually choose driver to update too. So what I'm guessing is, that's what I use to use before they downgraded me. One that has all of files its supposed to have. The problem is, I have 3 to 4 different folders of the HD driver. I would seriously appreciate it.īut i took a break from doing all of that and dealt with the sound for a couple days, then started getting curious as to if I have any of the files of the realtek hd audio driver anywhere in my PC. They also removed the realtek hd audio manager (the program that pops up when you connect a headset to it, and also edit sound settings from in app) and im wondering why? Any help regarding this would be absolutely lovely. Its like Microsoft downgraded me, and is making it damn near impossible to fix their fuck up. Well, it reinstalls the original realtek audio driver (not the HD version) so what happened? Why is it installing this version by default now? It used to install the HD one (THE ONE I WANT) by default and now it doesn't. help please.Įdit: also, I didn't know where else to post this and I am in a bit of a hurry to fix this mess that they caused me.Įdit #2: so, I accidentally uninstalled the realtek audio driver (keep in mind its the regular one, not the high definition one) and I got curious as to what would happen when I retarted like it told me to. i need help getting realteks hd audio driver again without it failing to install. everything was perfectly fine before a stupid update.

i have deleted alienwares updater since it had no information to what i had updated and didnt have a history of drivers so i could find the cause and effect of what has happened. i fully regret updating lastnight when they finally wouldnt stop pestering me to do it with pop ups that would be #1 priority and overshower other applications. i just want my hd audio back and the controller that came with it back as well. i really need help cause im at a loss of hours trying to figure all of this out and ending up in the same bad spot each and every time. everything sounds so bad and weird now on my laptop.

ive tried installing realtek hd audio drivers from dell and it fails. im stuck with realtek audio driver and it sounds horrible. Okay, so i used to have the realtek hd audio driver but after a recent update from alienwares update software, my realtek has dissapeared from device manager and the pop up i got when i plugged my headphones in to choose mic and headphones is missing too.
